What are sick visits?

House Call NP, LLC knows that illnesses aren’t planned, and it’s often difficult to get an appointment at the last minute. That’s why they provide same-day sick visits to offer you relief when unplanned illnesses and urgent problems arise for you or your child.

Your provider at House Call NP, LLC will evaluate, diagnose, and treat you for common illnesses. They’re available seven days a week and offer urgent care.

What are sick visits used for?

You or your child might require a sick visit if you experience one of the following signs or symptoms:

  • A high or long-lasting fever
  • A rash
  • Long-lasting or severe pain
  • Difficulty breathing
  • A wound or injury
  • A sore throat with a fever
  • Body aches
  • Fatigue
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Constipation or diarrhea
  • Other unusual symptoms

You or your child might also need a sick visit if you have severe allergy symptoms, chronic nasal congestion, urinary problems, or other symptoms that negatively affect your everyday life and don’t subside on their own.

What happens during sick visits?

During a sick visit, your provider checks your temperature, weight, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs. They ask about your symptoms and complete a physical exam to evaluate your overall health. Your House Call NP, LLC provider examines your throat, eyes, ears, abdomen, breathing, and heartbeat.

They might recommend a throat or nasal swab, urine test, blood tests, allergy or asthma tests, electrocardiogram (EKG), X-rays, or other imaging tests to diagnose the cause of your symptoms and develop a treatment plan.

Which treatments are available?

Depending on the type and severity of your condition, the House Call NP, LLC team might recommend:

  • Over-the-counter medicines
  • Prescription medications
  • Topical medicines
  • Rest, fluids, and at-home care
  • Wound or fracture care
  • Lifestyle changes
  • Breathing treatments
  • Injections
  • Further diagnostic testing
  • Minor surgical procedures

If you have a complex or severe medical problem, your internal medicine specialist can refer you to a qualified specialist in your area.
